What Is Wagyu

Wagyu is basically a ‘technical’ term for Japanese beef, which is well-known to be some of the best beef around. This is because the cattle are not given any antibiotics or hormones and are raised on a healthy grass-fed, barley-based diet. Unsurprisingly, the healthier and happier the cow, the better its meat. Only Wagyu beef from Japan can be called Japanese Wagyu. Wagyu raised in other countries is usually referred to by its country of origin, such as Canadian Wagyu. 

The Benefits of Wagyu

It definitely will not come as a shock to discover that Wagyu beef is somewhat healthier than non-Wagyu beef, hence its price tag. It contains high amounts of oleic acid, which is said to be good for the heart. Plus, it is also thought to aid in lowering not only cholesterol, but may even help to support weight loss.
